To clutch something you desperately long for in your fists and let it slip away suddenly is everything but a dream come true.

Nieces
I have two very lovely nieces. This set of photos is a little bit more about Shieh Jeanne, the older sister. More will follow with pictures of my younger niece, Shieh Reine.
Anyway, I'm displaying mostly Shieh Jeanne's marvellous talent at modelling. At such a young age... I see great potential in her...
She recently went shopping, so she got a lot of new clothes. I photographed some of them.

The matured pose.

The sweet little girl pose.
Here are some photos with my little niece.

Aren't they lovely?
And of course. This post won't be complete without a weirdo pic...

I love catching people off guard. So cute.

New Show
Haha.
I've finished filming and editing The Wife-less Guitarmen already! Basically it's about a group of bachelor guitarists who are in love with this girl...
I actually made separate covers...

Go to Superratty Films website to check up more details on this new idiotica short film.

Wasting Away #26: Zoo-ing with Editors
Ben said, " I managed to convince Mark to take me to the national zoo."
Shazzy said, "How romantic!"
I said, "Did you just say you managed to convince Mark to take you to the zoo?"
Ben said, "NO! I'm reading Sze Ning's blog. She brought Mike to the zoo!"
Shazzy asked, "Who's Mark?"
Ben said, "My EDITOR!"
Shazzy laughed and said, "Oh, and I said 'How romantic!'"
Daniel, if you are reading this, please don't tell Mark, or Nina won't be happy. It's just you know, one of those passing moments when Ben gets a little confused with his orientation and all. And sometimes you know, he gets a bit nostalgic over his past workplace. You're lucky I haven't posted any of his random ramblings about you. Meng yoe is gay and he is in love with fikri. How handsome you are and all that. He hasn't said much about Maya, I think mostly because Maya is his secret fantasy. People don't speak out loud about their secret fantasies, otherwise it wouldn't be secret anymore.
Anyway, disregard the above paragraph. It is nothing but a load of trash.
Except for the "I managed to convince Mark to..."
Anyway, Everyone is here but not here!
Shazzy said, "A piece of cloth."
bye.

The Wifeless Guitarmen
As always, Superratty Films and Cheesy Studios are cranking out short films under the "idiotica" category.
Partly as a follow up from Irregular Instances of Madness, where you have instances of many friends doing weird things to each other, The Wife-less Guitarmen deals with a band of extremely talented musicians who are untalented in only one aspect: They are unable to get married.
Here's a still where I'm involved in a cameo appearance..,

I don't know about you, but if you just concentrate on where my face is, it actually kinda looks like a War of the Worlds thing, where those tentacles invade my face. But that's not my point.
And yes, it's coming soon. Just need to shoot 2 more scenes, record the narration, and we're off!
And it's not slowing down "Lov" in any way. The "idiotica" category of short films usually does not require much brains, and is usually done when there is really nothing else to do.

"Lov" - Pre-production
My next short film, Lov, is about a young man who finds love wherever he is and is miraculously talented at keeping a schedule to please all his women... except his wife.
The script is undergoing editing and re-writing, and whilst that is going on, pre-production officially begun today when my only confirmed cast, Kerry-Ann Augustin (who will play the role of Gillian) screentested some of the lines. I must say that she sounded good reading those lines, and I look forward to the production of this show.
Over the next month or so, intensive planning will be taking place, as locations will need to be confirmed, dressings, equipment, and of course... the actors and actresses.

Wasting Away #25
YES I AM BACK!
Ha. Like most other wasting away sessions, SARAH IS WASTING HER TIME TOO! SHe is looking for terrestrial things, like trees. plants. animals. maybe. i don' tknow. Himalaya Honey Hunters. Whatever that is. She is taking something called Topical Terrestrial Biology. Prior to this, the only times I use the word Terrestrial, or Terran, was when I was 16 and playing a computer game called STARCRAFT. The humans were known as "Terrans". Because we are so "terror" therefore we are known as "terrans"
Kerry ANn is in the soundproof room singing some songs, recording some tunes for whatveer it is she does all these sorts of things for. Shi YIng asked if if she makes me sweat. I said no. She wonders why she does not have that hotness factor attacted to her to make me feel sweaty.
Ben won't be coming later. Sarah has yet to pass him the T-shirt that we bought him from bangkok. You know why? Because Sarah is secretly in love with the t-shirt. PLus we don't really like Ben, so we don't really remember to get him stuff.
Once in a while, I'd start rambling about nonsense until something interesting happens. Right now nothing interesting is happening except, me of course, but never mind. Andrew, my lecturer is supposed to show up in some minutes to drag me to some meeting about the equipment in this room.
While waiting, I am rambling. Sarah is now going to the mOnash portal. for what i don't know. I actually read her stuff. Though there is hardly anything intelligent to read.
Kerry is still singing. I can hear the guitar from here. SO much for soundproof. You know where the word sound proof comes from? It's actually a futuristic thing. We have bulletproof now. ONe day they are going to attack us with sound guns. ANd soundproof vests will save us!
Wani just barged in. As always.
Shi YIng is hiding under the table. She is wearing a blackish whitish greyish scarf, which I must say reminds me of those black icky thing that squids produce when they are running away from threats. And yes, what I'm trying to say is that SHi YinG is a sweet and wonderful sort of person who is always saying wonderful and witty things.producing icky blackish whitetish greyish stuff. I hear someone farting.
I am getting really really really really really bored. I am wasting away.
Let me tell you some jokes about Sarah, since she is beside me.
When we were in Bangkok, she was very sleepy, on one of the nights, due to her not having her room keys, she sat in my room where she witnessed me MIXING and MATCHING my clothes. SHe sat there on the chair, observing with great fascination how I unloaded my entire baggage of clothes and started planning, "I WILL WEAR THIS ON THURSDAY, FRIDAY, THEN THIS ON SATURDAY, and so on..."
SHe was rather impressed by my feminity displayed that night.
She just said, "ok..."
Shi YIng wanted to sabotage my blog post. But she failed. Because I am too smart for a squid. You know, think of it this way. A squid is only about the size of a thumb. even if her entire body is made of brain, her brain is still only the size of a thumb. Haih...
Girl TMY just called. She said she is coming to campus now because I AM HERE. Not because of anyone else, bUT ME ME ME ME and ME.
Shi ying is staring at me, like she always does. She enjoys objectifying me. I'm s orry, i'm not an object for your love. Go shag your own boyfriend.

Only then are we capable of conquering it and begin to do what humankind have come to accept and understand as... good."

No Entry to Sin City
Early in the year, I listed down a few films under the "must-watch-even-if-the-end-of-the-world-is-coming-soon" category. Among these elite class of highly anticipated films were of course Star Wars 3, Kingdom of Heaven, Memoirs of a Geisha, and... Sin City.
Now, of the above list, SIN CITY would probably rank behind Star Wars as the second most highly anticipated movie for me.

It came out in the USA in April to raving reviews for its state of the art visual style, and it was also praised for its level of faithfulness to the original comic, with many critics saying that this is how a comic adaptation should be done.
So anyway, I waited. I harboured a guess that it'll be banned here, for extreme violence and gore as well as a certain amount of nudity and all that. But the posters were up in the cinema, and trailers were screened. I tried to believe in the Malaysian censorship board for once. It was scheduled to be released in June.
Of course it got banned.
So the DVD is next.
I waited. I waited for the clear version of the DVD to be out. So today, I decided that it is time I quench my thirst of the sinful nature of Robert Rodriguez's dark alleys of Sin City.
I got home, turned on the T.V. and played Sin City.
Only the audio and visual did not match.
Stupid DVD.

Rebooting Wastings (#24)
I just completed my month long holiday. Classes resumed this morning. This must mean that my time to start wasting time in campus has begun again!
Let me make it very clear that people's time during the semester does not necessarily go to waste. It's just that it's my hobby to waste time in campus.
What happened during the holidays, one might ask. After all, holidays are meant to be wasted, either with desperate attempts to make some extra money or just sleep. But no. I find desperately making money, running around the globe, or sleeping to be the perfect use of time. Why? Because that's what holidays are for. So in other words, desperate attempts to earn extra pocket money, yam cha, and sleep are the goals for the holiday, and I daresay most of us have achieved that! "Wasting time" is when we are NOT doing what we're supposed to be doing. And that happens when we are in the academic semester, because we never study, we never plan ahead, we never do our assignments until the eleventh hour and fifty ninth minute and fifty ninth second, and we never (or rarely) have full attendance for any subject.
Time is wasted when people like me write things that can be said to be un-academic, like this wasting away post here.
Let me say that this semester is my last semester, and after that, "Wasting Away" posts will take a different form. Even now as I type, I'm already wondering how our time wasting sessions will be different since a lot of my friends have graduated and are pursuing bigger and better (or perhaps, sleeping a lot in a manner that many would consider to be "wasting time" but as I've said earlier, it's not wasting time if sleeping for a few months is their primary objective. Productivity is another topic, and even so, sleeping is a productive thing, because firstly, time passes by better; secondly, we dream; thirdly, we feel good; fourthly the list goes on and on) things.
Later in the day Kerry-Ann and Benjamin will be dropping by to finish off Siren with me and Anna, possibly. They are both done with the course but are still back to accompany me. haha. Sze Ning overslept this morning so my PDA has officially failed to perform her duties as my PDA on the first day of the semester, which resulted in me having to collect books and take notes for me, which on any other day, is her job. Sarah will be back for one final psychotic semester with the rest of us. Fikri should be around sometime this week. Wanie and Bei Yan and Shi Ying are around as well.
Haihz... How goes life?
Things should be fun. It certainly seems like it's going to be a really boring semester.
Kerry-Ann just called, she's coming over to meet me now.
Anyway. as I was saying, it certainly seems like it's going to be a really boring semester, because of the change of people, change of this and that. But really, who gives a hoot about it? We'll find pleasure somehow. We always do.
I'm sure Szen will conjure some tricks that will make people laugh, and perhaps Fikri will tell really funny jokes, and hope that Sarah will do a few more of her embarrassing acts that is blog-worthy in my wasting away posts, and who knows, this semester's time wasting sessions might just be as fun as the last.
Let me say this, though.
They say when you...
meet really beautiful people, you should just tell them they're beautiful.
You thought I was going to say "that line" right?
You are beautiful, whoever you are, reading this.
Unless you're Shi Ying, of course.

Psycho 3 + other Superratty Films matters.
Psycho 3: A Cross-Cultural and Intergalactic Mystery will be released sometime next week to a low key premiere among good friends.

Don't ask me about the title. :P
I'm almost done editing the film. It's about 7 minutes long. Just need the narration. It's coming in tomorrow, hopefully.
This is going to be great. It's my favorite Psycho of the series.
After showing it to friends, two CDs will be compiled.
1. The Psycho Trilogy
a) Psycho 1: The Real Mystery
b) Psycho 2: Mystery of the Predator
c) Psycho 3: A Cross-Cultural and Intergalactic Mystery
d) Teaser trailer for Psycho 3
e) Psycho to Psycho: Creating Psychotics
2. The Door
a) The Door
b) Teaser for The Door
c) Trailer #1 for The Door
d) Trailer #2 for The Door
e) Irregular Instances of Madness
Then hopefully in August I'll start shooting my next feature short film, "LOV". It's yet to be written, but I have the show in my head.
See ya, folks.

Never Shop With Six Women
Hey there.
I'm here to entertain everyone with a new post that tell of exciting adventures of mine in Bangkok so far! Well, Bangkok itself is one thing. But those who read my blog regularly will know that I rarely blog about myself and myself only and my day to day stuff. However, some of the stuff that has been happening to me and my friends are worthy of my "wasting away" nonsense.
Anyway, yesterday (Friday) I was debating whether I should join the girls (almost every single girl... in fact EVERY single girl) for shopping in Chatuchak, the biggest market in the whole wide world (this is a fact, not my usualy blowment of normative proportions). The thing is, I'm not the shopper type, and shopping BORES the hell out of me.
On the other hand I was contemplating on taking the city train from one end of Bangkok right to the other end, just to see the city in it's full glory, then take a boat ride back to Pommahokan, a small village near where I am staying. I wanted some time of my own, see, to do my own thing. I like to do that, just walk around, see things, think bout stuff. It's that sense of liberation that makes me feel... liberated from the everyone.
It was a 50-50 decision all the way to this morning. We slept at 3 last night, and this morning everyone kinda woke up at 10ish. I was up at 8 something and having breakfast downstairs with three other nerds who were reading papers, books, and writing journals (so was I, actually).
IN THE END I WENT SHOPPING. All of us except Fikri and Dr.Yeoh went to Chatuchak, and when we reached there we split up, and I went shopping with Sarah, girl TMY, Joanna, Shazzy, Wanie and Mal. Don't get me wrong, these are great people to be with, and their company is something which I value with much respect.
So anyway, we started off shopping, and the trend was that initially, most of us were a little lazy to bargain here and there, so we were paying regular prices for some stuff. HOWEVER, when we went deeper into the market, everyone started warming up. The girls started bargaining like mad (profanity [define profanity on your own]). ALL of them. There was this accessory shop where girl TMY held the calculator and bargained with the owner alongside Wanie for ONE FULL HOUR. I stood there and watched them debate over Bahts and I got tired, even though I did not speak a single word.
Then after we were done with that, I breathed a gargantuan sigh of relief, and walked for 2 minutes before they STOPPED AT THE NEXT STALL AND STARTED THE ENTIRE PROCESS AGAIN!
When we were finally done, it was 6p.m. in the evening, and we found out that we were the champion of shoppers, for we were there longer than everyone else, including the "Shopping Gurus" Suet Ying and Sze Mun.
Never shop with 6 women, even if they are pals. They get you tired for doing nothing. Thank goodness none of them made me carry their baggage along the way, or I'd be pulp on the floor by now.
Ha. Ha.

Psycho 3 update
Psycho 3 is definitely different from the previous 2 Psycho short films from at least one aspect. I did not finish shooting the film in one day.
On Tuesday I took some aerial shots.
On Wednesday I took many cityscape shots as well as one scene featuring the new lead actress.
A few more scenic shots to go, and 2 more acting scenes to go.
Lol.
And this Psycho is turning out to be the most comedically psychotic film of the series.

Am I that BAD!?
Today, as we got off the bus at Siam Square, the most happening shopping/hangout spot in all of Bangkok, my student guide friend, BB, jokingly asked me, "Do you want to see girls?"
I said, "What?"
She then gave me a really cheeky smile, like she was hinting that I'm some horny dude.
I gave her my usual don't-irritate-me-look and said, "I've had enough of Thai girls already."
We then continued walking with the rest of the gang, and she said, "Well, do you want to see Thai men?"
I really had nothing to say. We've only known each other for about 72 hours, and this mild little... thing can be so witty.
Anyway, we ended up going into the CD shop and me and girl TMY (that's May Yee) were so wowed by the collection of CDs and also the shopkeeper, who was an old lady who could... amazingly, remember all the old and new CDs that she brought in.
I bought Kill Bill volume 1 & 2 soundtracks. Very satisfied.
More tomorrow.

CF buddies
I just got back from a two day retreat with my Sunway-Monash CF committee. I'm not sure if they are going to blog about stuff, but I figure I'll flash you guys some photos, and my version of the events.
The photos are real of course. The captions are... errr... maybe not. Like I said, my way of seeing it.
Okay. Firstly, let me introduce the committee.

Top row: TMY, Peter, Oon Ee, Ah Liang
Bottom row: Becky, Susie, Huey and Mic Thai
Basically, during the retreat, there was...

A lot of SMS-ing around. Even during

a lot of 5 minute long naps (or more)

a lot of very heartwarming and nonsensical sharing

a lot of posing, mostly by Ah Liang

A lot of peeking

A lot of unfortunate events. This monkey actually threw a piece of fruit at Ah Liang, and hit him on his hand. We were quite shocked.
I took the picture so that if Ah Liang decides to, he can sue the monkey.

A lot of eating.
We ate 5 full meals. Regular college food, kampung lunch where we were ripped off, durian fest where we ate 8kgs worth of durian in around 20 minutes.
We were just taking the fruit, spitting the seed, and waving off the flies all at the same time.
I have a pic of the flies but I guess it's a real bad idea to show it here.

I changed my mind.

A lot of posing. I think I said this already.

A lot of contemplating.

A lot of... err... "Meng Yoe, take picture!!!" perasanted posing of machoness and err... never mind.

A lot of daydreaming.
Look at her face. It can only be me...

Of course, amidst all the fun. There was a lot of time spent on discussing about our favorite character, Jesus, or God in general.

And a good time of worship.
Good days indeed. Never felt so refreshed before.
All things new.
