Hearts
There is the heart. It is as Larry from the movie Closer described it. 'It looks like a fist, wrapped in blood!'
The heart beats. It is an ugly thing to look at, the heart. But it faithfully beats away, giving life to everything that is connected to it.
Within the heart there is a golden sphere. It is small. Very small. Like a single solitary bubble in your bathtub. It flickers consistently. Faster than the heart's beat. It is the heart of the heart. It is what keeps the heart alive. Destroy this golden heart, and you destroy one's hopes, dreams, and everything that the mind holds.
Within the heart of the heart lies a void. No eye can see it, and no needle can thread through it. It is a void of darkness and emptiness. Or at least it appears to be so. It is a quiet place. It is a secret place.
And there, the world makes sense. And there we hide our treasures. We hide our cities and our fortresses. We hide our love. We hide our sins. The void is a refuge, for good or for bad. It inhabits all things, big and small. The heart's void is spaceless, without boundaries, and understands nothing and everything.

Nice short 'lil piece. My void is my undoing. My void is the greatest source of both agony & delight in this life.
