MSN Tales: The Dog Prince
Here's the first one. Joanne asked me to tell a tale, so I did.
-------
The Dog Prince
Once upon a time there was a big bad dog
this big bad dog is actually a prince trapped as a dog
because he once killed a frog
and the goddess of animals punished him and turned him into a dog
and only when another prince kills this dog-prince will he become a prince again
if he dies a natural death he dies as a dog if a normal person kills him, he dies as a dog
only a prince killing him will break the curse
but he can't get near any princes cos no palace guards wil let him near
so one day, he saw a rabbit digging a hole in the ground
he went up to the rabbit and bit the rabbits leg and threatened to kill it
so the dog said “dig me a hole far and long enough to reach the insides of this palace where a 9 year old brat prince lives and i will spare your life”
so the rabbit had no choice but to agree
but the rabbit had a leg badly injured so it needed to be nursed back to health
so the dog waited
the dog let the rabbit heal
the dog would bing her fresh roots to eat everyday and carry her under a tree when the rain comes
and they never speak to each other
and so one day the rabbit's leg finally healed and set up to dig a hole in the ground far and wide enough to reach the insides of the palace
months passed and finally, the route was complete
and the dog passed the tunnel to the doorway of the 9 year old prince the prince saw the dog and said
"i saw you in my dreams, and i know i must kill you, for you are a cursed being."
and the prince threw his spear at the dog and the dog was fearful of its death,
suddenly unsure of the outcome of his endeavor
so he dodged and the spear killed the rabbit and the rabbit died, and turned into a beautiful princess
who was once cursed by the evil witch of the north because her father, the king, banished the witch
and the dog marvelled at the beauty of the princess
and left
one day he dog climbed through the tunnel to where the princess was resting and whispered into the ear of the princess
"to know that i fed you, sheltered you, and pained you solely for my purposes, and to letyou die, i deserve to live as a dog. for i see it as equal to the harm i've caused you."
and the dog left and the princess woke up the next morning and sought the dog
but the tunnel had disappeared
grass had grown over it
and the princess wondered where the dog went
The 9 year old prince no longer grew up bratty, for he knew the consequence of such actions
and the princess returned to her kingdom and lived happily ever after
as for the dog
he resolved from the that day he left, to be a good dog.
to be man's best friend
for he knew of the price of evil ways
and years passed, and he lived with with a poor master who loved and accepted him.
but he was loyal
and faithful
and when he died
the dog found himself carried to where angels were
and there he dwelt with them
for all eternity

Awwwww...
*sob sob*
how noble of the dog.
Repenting our sins, put sins in the past by changing for the better, and in the end, pass on to be with God for all eternity. =)
Was this the moral of the story you were driving at?
Hahaha, great story man. Honestly, I half expected a sick turnout, like the rabbit and dog falling in love and time stopped for them and stuff... *tongue* but yeah, proved me wrong, and that was a nice story. Left me thinking, which is almost an impossible thing to happen...
*grinz*
I can't wait to hear tonight's tale.
Meng Yoe tells great bedtime stories, especially with 'little girls' like me. Am young, adorable and immature, so live with it. *tongue*
no place for authorial criticism here. for those who don't understand that, it means i'd rather not tell you what i'm trying to say.
ok fair enough.
Take it as my reading of your text then (bearing in mind my contexts, literacies, intertextualities, and discourses, etc etc) haha ;)Lols =P~
I didn't even bother reading this post, because I'm not a donkey.

I'll tell a tragic tale about cows one day... about how horses run them down
hmph.
Gee, that's so sweet of you Meng Yoe...NOT! *rolls eyes*
hmph.
If the tale is gonna be a tragic one, I wouldn't like cows to be a part of it! =P
