He sings the songs...

Christianity...

What idealogy?

You can say that Christians are functionalists, that we are the outcome of definite practices.
This is because God does have a plan for us, and we function within his plan. I mean, Jesus had a goal when he was here on Earth, and that it to die for our sins. He functioned as savior of humanity from the deepest darkest (actually brightest, since fire is bright) hottest (not sexually) depths (I don't think of hell as deep, since if one keeps falling, he/she won't be able to stay still for long to get incinerated)

You can say that Christians are Marxists, that class plays a vital role, since the Bible talks so much about rich and poor, even if it may be in a less literal sense. Plus you DO realize that Jesus and the twelve disciples weren't the richest of people compared to the Romans... and there's such a big fuss about tax collectors and their profit making exploits... And you notice that Jesus always says something about the tax-collectors, and with regard to the appointment of the 12 disciples, the recruitment of Matthew is specially highlighted... why? Because he's a TAX COLLECTOR! God wanted to show that He can convert a profit minded man to become his follower! Amen to that!

That being said, you CAN say that Christians are capitalists, since God talks about debts and forgiving debts. In a utopic marxist society, where everything is equal fair and enough, debt shouldn't even be a word in existence. So perhaps God created the concept of capitalism so Christians can learn the meaning of forgiving from this perspective.

Are Christians a group of idealists? Maybe, since we are hoping for a final ideal which is the return of Jesus Christ and all that. But at least, unlike the Victorian, Post Victorian bla bla bla bla idealists, Christianity have a proven track record as idealists. So many prophecies that would be idealist in nature in the old testament times actually happened in the new testament. So. Aha!

You CAN argue that Christianity supports a monarchial/dictatorial rule, since the ultimate ending is Jesus' return to take his place as KING of heaven and earth. That being said, I know history tells us that monarchy doesn't work... King Louis the 3rd 4th or 5th (whichever and whoever got overthrown)... But Jesus is different. Jesus has a proven track record of being a humble down to earth kinda guy as demonstrated in the gospel of Matthew Mark Luke and John. So question of character doesn't even come to play because I don't think Queen whatshername ever walked down the streets in the state of Victoria for some fella to name that state "Victoria", and i'm quite sure Queen whatever her name is and King take-your-pick-name-whoever-you-want ever washed his own feet in his entire lifetime.

That all being said, there are so many more cultural, political, economic and religious idealogies that I didn't talk about... but I think generally speaking... God can work in all idealogies. God is present in whatever idealogy is at play because God is the maker of the idealogy itself. I know you Marxist extremists think that we make our own history. True, we do, but we create our own history by performing and fulfilling our functions within the frameworks of the perfect monarch's (God) perfect plan, that God's ideals can become reality in today's so called capitalist society.

Goodnight all.

I wrote all this off the top of my head due to stupendously un-interesting readings on a subject called Media, Culture, Power.
